The 2700 year old shipwreck was discovered in 2014 at the depth ~394 feet south of the island of Gozo, Malta. This Phoenician commercial ship is the oldest to be found to date. Almost three thousand years later, its Amphora content is in remarkable condition. While the analysis of the shipwreck content is still ongoing, initial data show that Phoenician were particularly skilled at trading at producing commodities distributed across the Mediterranean sea.
